Catholics are pagans and Christianity (generally) is a pagan religion. Christians do not follow the Ten Commandment or any other known rules.

She is not considered to be an idol. She is supposed to be a real person. So it wouldn't be against the 10 commandments to believe in her. So for those who believe in her she is not an idol. She is an important part of their faith.

That is a good question. My guess is in the Catholic religion there was the belief that someone had to pray to God for you. Because Mary is the mother of Christ, some feel that she has special means to relay prayers. Understand that now our mediator is Christ he takes our prayers to God. The Holy Spirit interprets our moans and groans and takes them to God. We don't even need priests to ask for forgiveness, but this is how the Catholic religion kept the sanctity of God away from the common people who didn't have access to the bible.....It shouldn't be this way any longer.

I don't care a whit about your "best answer" choice or the points that go along with it. The best answer I have for you is, IF she is nothing but an idol, then I could see your point. BUT, if she is, according to your source, the Bible, from whom you so eloquently quote, is the only woman ever on planet earth to give birth to a child Immaculately, and if that child of hers was and is the Only Begotten Son of God, and God Himself, and if, as the Bible continues to state clearly later that she is the ONLY WOMAN EVER to rise bodily into heaven before witnesses, then, maybe according to your source that you so quickly quote, she's NOT just an idol. She's THE ONLY WOMAN WHO CAN EVER CLAIM TO HAVE GIVEN EARTHLY LIFE TO GOD!! WOWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'll believe in her all my life, and pray to her too. You might want to consider it too. God Bless you.

She was chosen by God to bear His son, so she was blessed. Afterwards, I'm sure she had relations with her husband, can't imagine she stayed a virgin forever, especially since Jesus had brothers and sisters. So, she was blessed, a nice, good, jewish girl, chosen to bear His son. That's it. Make idols of her, not right. Pray to her, not right. Pray to God, only God. He is a jealous God, can't imagine he'd like all those Mary idols all over the place.

I believe Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus. But she went on to have other sons and daughters. She certainly didn't remain a virgin. she married Joseph. Nor does she deserve to be worshiped. She wouldn't want you to worship her.
But in all pagan religions there is a mother and son god worshipped. Probably comes down to us from pagan religion.

M't:1:18: Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
M't:1:19: Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
M't:1:20: But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
M't:1:21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.SHE WAS CHOSEN BY GOD,FOR SHE WAS A VIRGIN AND RIGHT WITH GOD.IT IS JESUS CHRIST THAT DIED FOR US. AMEN
