Yes, Many spina bifida children are born without ribs. Many of them have titanium rib cages built.

I am sure there are other disease that cause rib cage abnormalities.

well it is born in the tummy, so the stem cells make the ribs before it "comes out" or is born, if it was born without then that is very sad...

so a child have more ribs than an adult but it merge up as he become elder
