They are called the 7 deadly sins, but if you think about it, they all bring pleasure in their own way. Also this is things that we don't learn from our parents but stuff that comes natural to us. Take envy for example... Two toddlers playing together, one has more toys than the other, the one with less toys will show "envy". He in turn will act by hitting or taking away a toy showing "wrath", the one with the most toys will not want to give or lend any toys showing "greed". So to me they are not sins but natural human charasteristics, what do you think?

Go to the head of the class! Agreed.

"Sin" is meant to make people feel guilty, fearful of rejection by god, and to keep them coming back to church. So everything normal is a sin, and everything fun is a sin. Guaranteed repeat business -- no wonder churches have accumulated so much wealth and power down through the centuries.

The seven deadly sins relate to the most basic of human characteristics that we should all try to rise above. Now I'm not against a bit of lust occasionally (too occasionally most of the time) or even a bit of gluttony or greed but these can become destructive if they dominate your life.

I'm not a christian but I ten dto agree with them in part. Moderation not abstinence

Yes, they are natural human characteristics. Man is born sinful (Romans 6:23). But none of these bring us pleasure. Have you ever met a truly happy "wrathful" or "envious" person? Joy comes from doing what's right.

They are human characteristics, but they're not good characteristics, and acting on them is what would constitute sin. We have to do things that are against our characters, learn not to exhibit that envy, hit that kid, learn to share. Can you imagine what life would be like if we all gave into our human characteristics?

I agree...We are brought up in a sociaty that trys to scare us into
beeing a certain way. I think if we just start addmiting that we feel like this from time to time we wouldnt be so down on ourselves about feeling greedy.
Its humain nature that we are trying to tame by not letting ourselves just feel the way we want to.
