I had to talk to my dermatologist recently for this same problem
Apparently it boils down to the fact that there are essentially three over the counter dandruff medications (in shampoos). Each will work when you first start with it, but soon cease to work. The trick is to rotate the three. However, be careful not to over-wash you hair as stripping out all of the vital oils will cause flaking to get worse. Be sure to use a good conditioner. I've done pretty well with this approach, after having very very limited luck before.
If all of that fails - the dermatologists have several good options to help you out.

There is a shampoo that you can buy call Nizoral. It also comes in a prescription strength that is stronger then the strength you can buy at the store. I ones was given a prescription by a dermatologist for Nizoral Shampoo the prescription strength and it works great!!!. The none prescription Nizoral may work as well also. It might be a good idea to ask your pharmist what the difference is between the non prescription Nizoral and the prescription strength Nizoral. I only used the prescription one and it worked great.
Hope this helps.

i'm dealing with dandruff difficulty for previous 15 years. there is not any direct answer for an similar as you spot in classified ads. really you to keep your hair sparkling. Wash your hair with water day after day. once you taking head bath bend your head so as that the water would not roll onto the face. If it rolls onto face, incase of upright head bath, it is going to dandruff oil on the face and it may lead pimples on the face and face may look oily. end employing shampoos. Use standard water(no longer mineral water) with (standard warmth)and wash your hair day after day. that could do the trick. desire this permits
