Jesus said to love one another, but I have yet to meet a JW who has not criticized my own beliefs when coming to my door. Its not a case of not liking JW's but when they have come to my door, instead of accepted my own beliefs and wishing me well they decide to attack. They instigate this attack not me. I accept the views of others who knock on my door and respect that they are doing work according to their beliefs but I won't accept behaviour in this way. Maybe I have been unfortunate with the JW's who have come to my door in that they may have be over zealous in their approach but I have never had a problem with the Mormons. They knock. We chat and we wish each other well on our respective journeys. That is how it should be with two people who feel equally proud of their own beliefs.
I hope this is respectful enough without declaring myself as a true Christian above all other denominations etc etc.

It is true that anti-Witnesses work hard to spread slander and propagate bigotry against Jehovah's Witnesses. But such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) “Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”

That is not at all true, I am a Christian, my father is a Pastor of a Baptist Church, I do not like Jehovah's Witnesses because they do not speak the truth, I would like to know what grounds they have to place Joseph Smith up there with Jesus, and also why they think the book of mormon is as good as the Bible?? Just because I do not like them, do not condemn me and say that I do not like Jesus!!!

I've been reading some of these answers and it boggles the mind what people DON'T know about Jehovah's witnesses or their beliefs, but they still intensely dislike us. For instance, one person here boldly answered that she " would like to know what grounds they have to place Joseph Smith up there with Jesus, and also why they think the book of mormon is as good as the Bible??" My question is, WHO IS JOSEPH SMITH? FYI, Jehovah's Witnesses are not Mormons.
Another person assumes we don't work on Saturdays. Well, as with any other group, some of us do and some don't; it depends on what type of jobs we have. One thing is certain. There is no clergy class that is taken care of by others in the congregation. We each hold individual responsibility for taking caree of ourselves and our families. In addition, we give of our time voluntarily to do God's will to preach to others about the Kingdom, just as Christ trained his followers to do.
More than 6 million strong, we come from all walks of life: doctors, attorneys, teachers, homemakers, bus drivers -- blue color, white color, and so on. With the help of Jehovah's holy spirit, we find the time and energy to continue to take this message of hope to all who want to hear. We find joy in doing so, and even moreso as we continue to see increase in the number of honest, humble, and spiritually hungry ones earthwide, who happily accept this message.
“How comely upon the mountains are the feet of the one bringing good news, the one publishing peace, the one bringing good news of something better, the one publishing salvation, the one saying to Zion: ‘Your God has become king!”’—Isa. 52:7.

I'll tell ya. If Jesus came to my door, I wouldn't slam it in his face. I would invite him inside, pour him a nice cool drink, offer him a bong hit, and explain to him to stop what he's doing. I would inform him that while his message of peace & compassion is cool, the next 2000 years will be full of douchebags twisting his message to their own ends, and misunderstanding it, so he should just keep it to himself. I'm sure that if Jesus could have seen the torture, wars, oppression and other horrors committed in His name, he would have stuck to being a carpenter! If he could have seen how rednecks in America would twist his message, claim to worship him while they screw over the poor, support torture, and be completely intollerant of others, he'd just puke.
But no, I wouldn't slam the door in his face.

I don't dislike any person who is a Jehovah's Witness. I have committed too many sins to judge another.
But, their churches practices of re-writing the Bible every few years to suit their needs and of making false predictions and of condemming others all bother me.

Way to go P-nut!
Most people don't realize that Christianity was spread by telling everyone...house-to-house...in the market, etc
Jesus said "GO..make disciples..."
...not to build churches and have them come to you
Also to ==> angel122202
You are confused, the Mormons, or Latter Day Saints follow Joseph Smith's teaching and have the book of mormon.

jehovah witness is a troop branched from the jewish religion...it is not that old like other religions...i am sure it is found couple of hundred yrs by a jewish group...
i dont want to tell a lot..but to proove i can give 1 or 2 examples..
saturdays they dont work they go & pray(they call it sabith)& this day was a forbidden day for the jewish to fish & work on that day but to pray...meanwhile it is sunday for christians..friday for muslems..
& jehovah in the jewish believes is god who came to the earth in a shape of human & they cut his head...(muslem believes he is jehowa the prophet to israel)
one more thing...jesus didnt go to everybody's house & stayed there disturbing them,talking,talking....he was polite & forced no one to hear him...
