When I call my friend (using a domestic calling card), her cell phone doesn't show my name, it either shows simply "Call" or gives a phone number. Why does this happen? Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

When you use the calling card, it has its own number, so even if she or he has you as a friend in their contacts list, the number will not correspond and they will not know it is you calling. The only way a name shows up is if it is a registered number with your name as the holder, or if the number called has your name stored with it. If it comes up blocked number then it is because your telephone number is blocked and the phone will not recognize you calling.

When you use a calling card you have to dial an access number first (well most of the calling cards I know work that way), so if you call your friend by using a calling card it won´t show her your phone number because it is like if you were calling from a different phone number. I don´t know if this might work, but you can give it a try, you can tell your friend to store into her cell phone the access number you usually use to place the phone calls as if that was your phone number, MAYBE (not sure), next time you call her by using a calling card your name will show up.

Because you are using a domestic calling card is my guess. If you were calling from the number that is registered to your name then you would show up on her caller ID. If you are, then call your telephone company for advice would be my next thought. Best wishes!

When you use a calling card your name won't show up. You are purchasing your time through a company unlike using your regular phone or long distance where you pay for it. Its hard to explain but hope you can understand it a little better.

Your friend should have the option to PROGRAM her / his phone with your information on it. Once this is programmed, anytime YOU call, your name should show up on thier tel. Most updated telephones have this feature. - The telecomunications industry has been "under the knife" recent years claiming that PRIVACY is lost, with everyone having caller I.D.
I hope this helps.

your number is blocked, you are registered on your phone service as a private caller you have to call the compant your service is with and tell them you want your number to show up.

I think it because your not saved in her address book so the phone doesn't recognize you as yourself. You are unknown.

It means they don't have you as a contact in their phone address book.
