I think the GHD is more effective, though. The CHI is really popular in America, while the GHD is popular in the United Kingdom and Australia. It's best to use a ceramic iron that has ceramic plates, and is not just ceramic-coated.

Use Super Skinny Serum by Paul Mitchel with ur straightener. Also use a ceramic kind to get best results without frizzing. Do it on slighty oily hair, never on dry hair or else it'll kill ur hair.

I have the same type of hair and I use the Chi Turbo.... its heats up in like less than a minute and after u straighten your hair with it, no one will know how puffy your hair really is!!!! Its the best!!!!!
