I'm having a dispute with a gal who I owed money to. I payed her off and now she is filing false accusatory allegations against me and has even put a restraining order on me. She has filed a breach of peace charge and the restrainign order because I "supposedly" threatened her and her family. I did no such thing. How do I get out of this mess????

Have absolutely NO contact with her or her family. Do not call her. If she calls you, call the police.

You may have to ride this one out. And by that, i mean go to court and everything, but in the mean time, don't make any contact with her at all. Try to only be in places where you are supposed to be, just in case she tries to make up other lies, then you could substantiate a truthful alibi. Once court papers are filed, you pretty much have to state your defense.
This country is funny in how a person can accuse you of something and you have to try to prove you didn't do it. They don't have really have to prove you did it, just have to give a reasonable accusation that's believable.

hopefully you paid her out with something other then cash so you can prove you paid her-if not then just leave her alone. By the way you have to have some proof of the person threating you to file a restraining order- so just leave her alone , and everything will be ok
