This advice is a little late for your situation right now, but next time, start taking Vitamin B12 about a week before the trip. It makes you produce a scent that mosquitoes do not like, don't worry, no one else can smell it. I went to Alaska several years ago, they have mosquitoes the size of small birds there, hahaha, anyway I was told that Vitamin B helps, and I didn't get bitten once. A word of warning, it makes your urine turn a dark yellow, almost orange.
Avon Skin So Soft, is the best bug repellent though. I love the bug spray, sunscreen combo they have. Have fun!

They are called citronella candles not sandmonilla.Any way we down here in the south have started rubbing dryer sheets on our skin, after Katrina there was a shortage of "Off" and we found that this does work but I've found that what work even better is Avon's Skin-So-Soft and Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus Expedition! Y'all have fun!

Use Avon's Skin-So-Soft lotion or bath oil. For some weird reason biting insects won't come near the stuff. They don't advertise the fact, but any Avon rep will tell you it works!

I've hear that hair spray will keep them away. Also "Avon" has wipes, I think they're called "nice 'n soft" that works.
Have fun
