To be honest, no one really ones who he is, what he will do, or when. (No one knows except God, of course)

The anti-christ is anyone who opposes Christ. This is widely misunderstood because so many people misinterpret prophetic scripture. In effect there have been numerous "anti-christ" figures throughout history beginning with the early church including those that hung Christ on the cross.

1 John 2:18
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

1 John 2:22
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2 John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

These are the only four verses that mention this term as such also define the term..antichrist. So who is this "mythological" person to emerge as the "beast" of end time prophecy? Well is it Bill Clinton, George Bush, Koffe Anon? No..these people have no power in and of themselves...the beast is symbolic of a world wide government first established as a "church body". Yes, the Roman Catholic church...I could go into all the details here for you because it is indeed facinating but while I have the inclination, I don't have the time...however, if you would like to email me I will more than willingly give you my slant on the whole matter...as with all things Biblical its open for speculation but there is more to these mulit-faceted passages than what is typically offered with "end times scenario" fodder. Love in Christ, ~J~ <>< ;0)

The expected role of the Antichrist

The Antichrist, by Lucas Cranach the Elder - 1521. During the time Cranach was under protestant Lutheran influence and therefore portrayed the Antichrist with the papal tiara.Christian denominations disagree on what will happen in the end times, and the role that Satan and the Antichrist will play. Among those who believe that the Antichrists of whom John was writing are instead a single individual and expect this one to arise in the future, there is a general consensus that sometime prior to the expected return of Jesus, there will be a period of "trials and tribulations" during which the Antichrist, inspired by Satan, will attempt to win supporters with great works, and will silence anyone or make enemies of any country that refuses their allegiance (by refusing to "receive his mark" on their foreheads or right hands). This "mark" is expected to be required to legally partake in commerce, as noted in the book of Revelation. Some Christians believe that the Antichrist will be assassinated half way through the Tribulation, being revived and indwelt by Satan. The Antichrist will continue on for three and a half years following this.[1]

In this view, an event popularly termed the "White Throne Judgment" will take place, at which time both the living and the dead will be resurrected, some for everlasting life, and some for everlasting death. All those who worship God and Jesus will be admitted to the presence of God; but everyone who would not repent of the Antichrist will be sent to an outer darkness. Finally, the "Dragon" (often interpreted as Satan), the "Beast" (often interpreted as the Antichrist) and the "false prophet" (interpreted in many ways) who compels the world to worship the Beast (lie), and all who received his mark (cast their lot with him), will be thrown into a lake of fire together with death and Hades. These views are based on controversial passages in the Apocalypse of John, more commonly known as the Book of Revelation.

In other views, the role is far less dramatic - the Antichrist is simply believed to be a group of individuals as well as organizations, who, for their history of trying to deceive and stifle the faithful, are finally destroyed for all time by God on the day of Armageddon.

The Anti-Christ was a figure predominant in ancient times, he has nothing to do with our times. He is mentionted 2x in the New Testament and his role in todays/the end of the world is nothing more than "make-believe" a modern fairy tale told by evangelical christians to scare the "hell" out of sinners and other christians to keep them in line. HIS TIME HAS ALREADY COME AND GONE IN ROMES TIME, he means nothing to todays world, so why fear the boogyman. Study the history of the language of the bible and the way it was translated, (yes its more difficult, but you get at the truth easier that way) and learn what situations that the books were written under, where they where written and who wrote them. This will often help in deciphering what some of the scriptures have to tell us. Study!!

Exactly. There is no logic, there is no actual anti christ 'man'

Anti means opposite. The opposite of Christ is the law. Because Jesus imputed grace, where Adam imputed sin. Moses gave the law. The church teaches law.

Anything that teaches you that you have to do anything or believe anything to gain favor with God is antiChrist.

What did Satan tempt Jesus with - murder, fornication? Nope, to prove who He was. He knew he didn't need to.

Revelations was fulfilled at the cross. The only devil we are fighting is in our own hearts and minds. That is what we need to be saved from.

On that day, there will be a war and all anti-christ people will like kill every Christian. Then, the people who really believe that Christ died will disappear and their clothes will be neatly folded and they'll go to Heaven. Then, this man will claim to be the Messiah (Christ) and all the anti-christ people will believe him.

So basically Earth will be in filled with bad people (anti-christ people) and there will be Christians up in Heaven.

Read the Holy Bible for yourself and ask God to give you understanding.

A great online Bible (free) and study tools are at www.gospelcom.net.

Also, there are some excellent teachers who provide free resources onine as well. You may want to check out:

There are some good movies on this topic, too. TBN is a christian tv network (www.tbn.org) that has lots of resources including movies that you can purchase, or at least get the names of the movies and rent them from the store or library.

Who do you think has been running this dog and pony show on earth for all these years. This ain't God's world, my dear. Any God that would allow the crap that goes on down here to continue going on is no God. This is Satan's time and place to play with all of us. He gets to take his opportunity to see what it takes to break each of us and turn toward him and away from God. This is also God's time to see who hasn't got the balls to stand up for what is right. This is our testing ground and by the time God returns you had better know what side your on.

Nope, don't worry nothing.

All was fulfilled and done. It is the worry in your heart and mind that is anti-christ.

Nothing, it's just mostly a marketing thing. I don't even know if the word 'antichrist' is in the bible.
