Just gotta be blunt. It'll suck for a while, but it will all work out in the end.

I am a mother ---I would suggest you to go to your mother and admit that you had lied about whatever happened and tell her the truth----
it is not good to leave the door open for your mother to start not trusting you----
Always be truthful with your parents---
I am quite sure that your mother loves you as much as I love my son--she will understnad whatever you tell her!

If you have a problem she can not help you to solve the problem if you do not let her know what it is!

I always tell my sons if they did something wrong and come clean about it they might get in a little trouble but if they lie about something (no matter how little) they get in alot of trouble. Little lies lead to bigger lies and pretty soon they get too big (and too much of a burden on your consience) to live with. Tell your mom the truth and appologise for lying in the first place.. She loves you and will have a great deal of respect for the fact that you came clean with her. Just understand that you probably wont get off scott free but you will feel sooooo much better and your relationship with your mom will move up to a higher level.. Admitting your mistakes is a big step in growing up to be a responsible adult. Best of luck and dont forget your mom loves you no matter what you do.

Believe it or not, mothers have a lot of padding for that stuff. They would rather know the truth and trust that you can come to them. I am sure she will agree that she would always want you to be able to approach her. Mothers are known to be forgiven.

It is obviously bothering you. I know how hard it is to come clean. Maybe writing your mom a letter would be easier for you. That way you can think calmly about what you want to say. Good luck dear. Don't forget, your mom loves you.
