The fear of the afterlife made GOD.
This invention also helped man deal with his problems and other immature fears, e.g. like keeping the women in line.

I for one love an independent, sophisticated, sexy vixen temptress.
Although, nailing a right wing Republican's wife is also a lot of fun.

God is a figment of people's imagination. So humans made God.

Gods were created to explain phenomenon that could not be explained. People had little scientific knowledge in the past and needed something to help solve all of the world's wonders. For example, people could not figure out where lightening came from, so they invented Zeus who chucks lightening bolts when he is angry.

It's just something that our minds can't understand. I know it's true, but God has always existed. In our lives, we have always known life to have a beginning and an end. God's understanding is way beyond ours, and when I get to Heaven, it'll totally make sense.

God has always been here, it's hard for us as humans to understand that, but he has been here all along, since before the beginning of time.
