Reaping what you sow has nothing to do with God punishing you. it has to do with you, the actions you chose for yourself and the consequences you will receive because of your own actions
God doesnt send people to hell, people send themselves by choosing to reject God

The Most High indeed has created a system of balance. The whole spiritual world has a warp to it. It is on a gradient. It is like a vast sloped land where people who are moving down can slide faster, but those who are moving up towards the HEIGHTS, find the going difficult but rewarding.
God indeed punishes those who do wrong. If he did not, everyone existing today would be evil. BUT, his system is balanced. He punishes the evil ones and boosts the good ones.
If he had not done so, we woud not be talking of Moses in good terms we would be talking of the Pharoahs, who were wealthy and powerful. Moses in contrast was a man of lesser Worldly means, but was filled with the power of righteousness and justice for the weak and the Lord is always with the righteous!!
If you do wrong, you pay. It is a law of nature which the Lord has inscribed in our very hearts and minds as well as in the natural order.
However Mercy is always best.

I pertain that statement to Karma. What comes around goes around. I'm a non-practicing Christian (meaning I believe in God but question his place in my life)
I wonder if he's a punishing God as well at times. But I really don't think that's true.
Just treat others with the same respect and care you'd want for yourself.

Punishment and karma are two different things. Karma is a teacher in which if we are willing, we will learn lessons that alleviate suffering for ourselves and or others. I believe God disciplines, via simply allowing karma to work. This is for our own good and is not in punishment motivated by wrathful vengeance. I don’t care what Bible verses are spouted out; God is not the Bible and is much better than his/her besmirched reputation. The best God you can think of is a lot closer to the truth than uncompassionate interpretations of something far removed from our times. I encourage everyone to think for themselves, and not be so attached to writings for your one all be all source of truth. Writings are sources that give us ideas but ultimately we need to put the pieces together for ourselves, using not just but once source but all the sources of the world that experience gives us. Discern with your heart without attachment to the ego of you think you are. Blessing on this spiritual journey, I have confidence we will all meet again at the shores of the source of sources.

No! Like if I want a good job, I gotta bust my **** to find it and then work hard to keep it. Work for what you want.
Or if you kick sleeping homeless people all the time and then one day, your car gets towed.
You reaped what you sew.
Thats not Karma. That's the way energy flows through life.
Good attracts good. Bad attracts bad.
P.s. God is a punishing god. He is your father. And your father definetly punishes. He's not gonna send fire n brimstone to engulf your house, but your car might get towed. :)

God is a punishing God. Just read Deuteronomy 28 if you don't believe that. He tells the Israelites exactly how they will be punished if they don't obey. But just because God punishes, does not make him unjust or unloving. We punish our children because we love them and know what is best and want them to have it. It is the same with God. Just in case you got that God is not a punishing God because he is also a loving God, that is a flawed argument. Hope that helps.

well lets look at it this way...
you reap what you sow (just correcting your spelling)
so it basically means you shall harvest what you plant, Spiritual or natural. You make your own reward, good or evil
If you are nice to others, then others will tend to be nice to you.
If you are a jerk to others, they will tend to be that way to you.
Basically you are in charge of your own life, and your own destiny. So how can you call this being a punishing God?
YOU are responsible. Not God.
In the same way I am not responsible for your actions, and neither is anyone else. Ultimately YOU decide your fate.
God has nothing to do with how you decide to act.
He set out the rules of the playground, it is up to you to follow them or not.

That's just a saying, like "what goes around comes around." It doesn't neccessarily have to do with punishment, but has generally been used that way. If you sew kindness, you will reap kindness. In other words, what you plant is what you harvest.

God IS a punishing God! The Bible states that He is a vengeful God. There is nothing in life that doesn't have consequences, good or bad. Cause and effect.

I think God does punish. I mean he even said that disciplining your child=love for your child. I am a child of God so I think that he disciplines me and allows me to try my own thing so that I can fall and run back into his arms. Reaping what you sow can also mean that if you don't try hard then you will not get much in return but if you try very hard and put all of your strength into it then you will probably get a blessing.

IT's a basic law of life. Every choice we make has consequences. Those consequences can be good for good desicions or bad for bad descicions. It has nothing to do with Karma.
Consequences have nothing to do with God punishing, it has to do with the reality that you can't do whatever you want and always expect someone else to clean up the mess.
