No, that is attacking the wrong problem. Don't get me wrong, I am totally against obesity, aka america being too fat, but the problem is lack of excersize. When school budgets drop, the first things to be cut are extra-curriculars and non-core subjects, in other words, gym and sports. For some kids, gym class is the only excersize they get in a day, and it should not be bumped down to meeting occasionally. Junk food is bad, but get america in shape first. Once they care about what shape they are in, they have better chances of stopping eating the food altogether, rather than just cramming their faces with chips the second they get home.

Yes, but I'm not sure it would help. The kids will still bring their sack lunches with chips and cookies and stuff, or they will go to convenience stores with their lunch money and buy the junk anyways.
Why not put baked chips in the vending machines, or offer things like carrot and celery sticks (in well-sealed vacuumed packages)?

yes because the children of today are doing less physical activity and more sitting around and eating high fat foods. They should definintly put more healthy choices in the vending machines. That way children have no choice but to eat something healthy.

No, because the kids will still have access to junk food anyway. If they buy it from school, it is because their parents don't send them anything nutritious. The parents give them the money to buy the food then the parents need to step in..

No, because if people want junk food and want to get fat they eventually will by going to stores and buying the junk food. It's like tellin teens not to do drugs you can't always be there to take care of them , people should decide upon their health.

No I thought that was the most dumbest thing that they could ever come up with. If kids are getting fat then they should control what they eat outside of school. C'mon what's a 30 min lunch break gonna do for these kids??

Depending on the age of the kids in the school. I don't think there's any good reason to have it in the younger schools, but high schoolers should be able to make food choices for themselves.

yes, because kids need something nutritious in order to be able to concentrate, and learn something in school, junk food is not good, they should put some good pitches, apples, oranges, and you know all the good things, and they taste better too!! also kids are getting too fat, that is a problem too.

Absolutely. The parents aren' their to supervise their kids, and the teachers are watching 25+ kids at any given time, so they shouldn't have to parent them on what not to eat too, so it is better to remove the problem and make it easier for all parties involved.
