I am having a winter wedding, and for the favors my fiance and I decided to have mini ice scrapers. They will be white with a silver snowflake on them. They are about the size of a credit card with a scraper on one end, and a squeege (sp?) on the other end. And yes, we do live in a state that gets tons of snow every winter. Do you think this is a good idea?

They are going to be wrapped in white tulle, with a blie topaz ribbon around it and a snowflake tag that says "for good times, and in bad". =)

We aren't doing ediable favors because we are having a cupcake tree, as well as a candy buffet. We are already risking having hyper active children on our hands, we don't need to add to it...=)

I am a big fan of unique favors that reflect the personalities of the couple. In this case, it is a couple with a great sense of humor. It would be nice if you can personalize them with a ribbon with your names and wedding date (if the ribbon doesnt overwhelm the size of the scraper). If the ribbon is too big, you can always attach them to a little gift card with your names and wedding date They will certainly be memorable and great with an overall snow theme.

Congratulations and to many wonderful decades scraping snow together!

You've got a great idea there! Is a credit card sized scraper going to get used much? (Sorry, I live in Southern California so no snow!)
If you wanted an alternate idea, you could always do some personalized ornaments. That way your guests would remember you and your wedding every holiday season.
Best of Luck!

thats an awesome idea...and unique, not the same old mints a nd bubbles. another cute idea to go along with the ice scrapers could be those little pocket handwarmers...they dont look all pretty but they work, therey'd go along with the scrapers... cheep and sound like they would work out good...jsut slip them into the bags with the scrapers...at least it would get a laff. kudos on the originality

I love the idea of the scrapers. I saw a winter wedding done and they got snow globes with a wedding couple and their name in it. I thought that it was beautiful. The scrapers sounds fun. LOL

Although they sound adorable, I have a feeling that the majority of your guests will end up just throwing them away. It is the same w/ little frames/ silver bells and other trinkets. They will look cute though- and they will reinforce your theme. But you may want to look into edible favors which are usually cheaper and they actually get used/eaten.

I think that is a wonderful idea. There is nothing worse than silly wedding favors that no one has any use for. With your ice scrappers people will be able to recall your wedding and your happiness. Best Wishes!

I like it, it's not a stupid candy favor that everyone will throw away after a couple of weeks. It's a great idea, go for it.
