Its spelled jambalaya and since it has plenty of rice and fish or sausage in it I would have a nice tossed green salad and some homemade bread. You'll find a recipe on the Internet under Cajun recipes. Sounds wonderful!

Wilted Spinach Salad
Fry bacon (5 or 6 pieces)...reserve the grease in the pan and let the bacon cool then crumble it...crumble a couple of boiled eggs...finely chop 5 or 6 green onions....heat the grease and add a big bunch of fresh spinach leaves and toss them around until they are sort of wilted...throw them in a bowl and sprinkle the other ingredients over it.

Jambalaya, while having ham, sausage, shrimp, and/or whatever, is a rice dish that is best complimented cornbread and a simple meat if you're really in for a big meal ( I prefer blackened fish).

Green salads are always a good bet when in doubt about the proper side dish. In your case, cornbread would be nice, too. When's dinner?

Jambalaya goes best with a green salad and hot buttered corn bread.

Definitely Corn Bread! Not only is it delicious, but is will also help soothe the mouths of those who are not as capable with handling the spice.

If your in a boat, the best side would be the side where the fish aren't so you wouldn't kill them.
