Usually that info is classified, but if you want to know if he is a sex offender, then you can go to your local courthouse to request information on the registered sex offenders in your neighborhood.

Depends on where you live in the world, but generally you can't get hold of that infomation unless you know which court they were convicted in. The court records are public record but generally only to individual callers.
A court in one town won't give you access to records from a court in another town. You could always ask the neighbour. Doubt whether you will get a truthful answer

You go to your county website, dig around there in the county courthouse part of it, and enter his name in the "criminal records search " blank. It's public information, hardly "classified" as someone else said. Not a bad thing to consider if you're inclined towards crime. You can also try counties where he has lived in the past, and neighboring counties.
Sorry folks, but this IS public information. Do a search in google for "xyz county courthouse, (state) " and you'll find it.

ask them. duh. heres what you do. leave a valuable object in a large window. if your neighbor breaks in and steals it and/or kidnaps you and/or your family then they are probably criminals. but this does not necessarily prove they have a criminal record. they do now. but that wont help you. but stalking is a good way to find out anything about anyone and its also not creepy or illegal. so have fun finding out if your neighbor has a criminal record. i hope you dont get stabbed and/or shot in the process. have a nice day. and if you live next door to me the answer is no. i haven't been caught yet. so yea. that's pretty much it. i hope this was a useful and/or helpful and/or informative answer.

This answer is different depending where you are. Some countries and some legal systems do allow this information to be made public subject to a defined and prescribed need.
As a rule generally you are not going to be given this information unless you can show a legal need for it.

you can do two things you can try to goggle and find out about him or you can call the police department and find out if he has a bad criminal back ground and if he does they will only provide info about being a sexafender. Good Luck

If you are in the UK there is no way of finding out unless your neighbour tells you.

Well it is public record. If you want to pay for it look for an ad on people search.
