It depends how deep of a cut, and where it is. If it's a cut on the dog's pad, I strongly suggest going to a vet, because that area is susceptible to lots of infections, since it is walked on.

I've gone through this several times with my dogs. Definitely take them to the vet. If the wound is too deep to heal on it's own, they can sew it up. If it isn't that deep, they can still clean it out really good & give you a round of antibiotics to give the dog because if you don't start treatment right away, it will get infected. As our vet put it - "think about where your dog walks every day & what they walk in"

That has never happened with my dog but i would say to go to a vet and ask them advice and maybe get a special little boot to put over their paw because it will heal faster without all the stuff and dirt on it's paw! Good Luck!!!

It depends on the severity of the cut. Most wounds will heal quickly. You'll probably notice your dog licking the wound often. This helps in their healing process. If the cut is deep, take the dog to the vet.

Depends on if you can keep him from licking it and getting it infected as well as what he picks up from walking on it.. You can use Neosporin and bandage (if the dog will tolerate the bandage) to help the healing process. Also a natural remedy and a natural anitiseptic is tea tree oil.

I would put antibiotic salve on it and cover with a bandage so dirt does not get into the wound. Also you don't want the dog licking the salve off. This is only if the dog does not need stitches.

First you should talk to your vet about the cut...It could get infected. Then it depends on how bad it is and how it is treated.
