You didn't specify preferred gender. There is a great deal of difference in behavior and build depending on the gender. Just like there is a difference on what boys and girls like to do, and how they react, your little lab will be different according to breed.
Wouldn't the most obvious name be: "Chocolate," or if really desperate maybe "Pudding." Puppies are always rascals, you could name it "Rascal" or "Mischief."
Then there are the funny ones: These are names that only gets better when you are looking for your dog in a public place and have to keep trying to call its name out LOUD. People think you're calling them something after a few times, while you can insist that YOU'RE CALLING for YOUR DOG, under your apology you can then can hide a little smile that reads "I called you "Shorty, big-nose, gold-digger, twit, nuisance, hairy beast, slacker. It doesnt matter much what you call you the dog, If you use his name in frindly sweet voice, he will love you for it. You could easily get used to running down the street yelling "Fool" or "Slob" to every person you meet, only to explain that you are looking for a dog named . . . . .
Have fun.

Choose a name that you like and that respects the dog. You might use a girl's name for a female, a boy's name for a male.
About the chocolate Lab, they are beautiful animals, but did you know that they are extremely rambunctious and you better have a big yard as well as a lot of energy yourself in order to control the animal. You should also expect to spend a lot of time with your new dog.

How about Turd?
My brother has a chocolate lab named Boscoe.
Actually, with dogs like labs it's better to pick a one syllable name-they respond better & learn it faster. Reese was a great suggestion.
Good luck!

I have a choc. lab too, Brody. He started out Cody and at 8mths I got him and switched the C to Br so it wouldn't confuse him.
Everyone will tell you Hersheys', Coco, anything chocolate, and you will meet thousands of brown dogs with similar names. Try getting him/her first and seeing what it's temperment is. If you want to go with a choc. theme try Fudgey, Keebler, or a pricey choc like Godiva, Noka or Willy Wonka!
