no because they have pads on their paws but have common sense if you can't walk outside without shoes on hot cement you shouldn't let your dog walk on it too

Yes Ang,their little paws can be burned by hot cement just as your feet could be burned.Walk them either late evenings or early mornings.Even better try to walk where there is grass or dirt for him to walk on.Walking on cement does aid in keeping the nails trimmed down and the pads tighter but not on hot surfaces

no, the paws of a dog dont get burnt when they walk on hot cement because their paws are protected with these things called pads and they are made of really rough skin and so it protects their paws.

Yes!!! If your pup has no other choice but to walk on pavement get him little dog shoes. It may take him some time to get used to it and also give you a great laugh until he does (funky chicken walk) but it will protect his little paws. Other than that only let him out on the pavement when it has cooled off somewhat.
One of the other answers was extremely dangerous and bad advice... NEVER PUT VASELINE ON ANY PART OF YOUR DOG. It is very toxic when they lick it and can very well kill your pet! Their digestive system can not take petroleum jelly. Very bad advice from the other person. Good luck

Yes definately. Thier pads are very sensetive to hot surfaces. Don't ever let your dog walk on hot cement or on tar covered roads.

yes, it ruins the pads on their paws if not treated quicky. Put your dog in a shaded area, only walk the dog in the grass or after the sun goes down.

Yes, if it's hot enough. Sand, too...I took my dog to a black sand beach once in Costa Rica, and the expression on his face was just so cheated. He went to the water and didn't come out all day.

YES. You should be mindful of where your dog is walking & make sure you get them on the grass where possible. You may also want to get them booties (they do make those for dogs).

not too much if any... their paws are really though and are used to most surfaces and are meant to walk on rocks in the forest, so they should be good.
