It seems that once you get to be my age, they are all taken, or just not right. So wheres the best place to find the good ones?

This is true sweetie. I don't know the statistics but there are about 4+ woman to every single man. The men choose as we beg. Being a woman is hard because we need to deal with being alone. Sadly enough, the good ones are taken or just divorced and not ready or barely ready for a new relationship.
Middle aged divrocees, are mostly taking care of children and trying to get finances in the right place.
At this point get a "fixer upper" and do your magic. Because we as woman are the potatoes and the men are the steak.

Married, because a middle aged man is only unmarried because he is a player and doesn't want to stop playin', OR he is divorced because he could get a long with his wife OR he is so undesirable or timid, he can't get a girl

well you say middle age so I'm not really sure what you're specifically talking about, but if I would hazard a guess, check out the local club, they're usually the ones staring at the dancefloor.
