it looks like wicca is a nice religin and all, but i do see a darker side to it, ive been studying for a few years now,and i did some magick too.but the more i read books on withcraft, the more i see the strange simalaritys wicca has with satanism,it makes me wonder. like in the book of satan,it says
harm none,do as ye will..so does the wiccans reed, both religons use the pentagram, swords, etc. im not saying all wiccans are conspiriters. i guess some do work with the devil, and others dont.
just like some of the biggest catholic prist's in the usa belong to the golden dawn. a satan based group. so the devil is everywhere
Even in GOD's church. i see wiccans and magicians at catholic church's quit often.and ives seen christians in wicca groups and meetings.so i guess it just depends on the person. good&evil in all of us. some more, some less.

Just so you know, Satanism actually has nothing to do with the biblical Satan. I don't know why, it just doesn't.
From our friend Wikipedia: 'Satanism is a term that may refer to a religious, semi-religious, and/or philosophical movement. The term is normally applied by non-Satanists to those individuals who worship the entity called "Satan," and advocate the triumph of evil forces over good in the universe; however, members of the Church of Satan, the most organized Satanic group, reject this common association, as they do not actually believe in a being called "Satan," and use his name only as a symbolic allusion to certain materialistic and individualistic values.'

And yeah, there is a darker side to paganism. That doesn't mean that there's not predominantly good people who practice it, nor that those predominantly good people are entirely on one side or another. As I've said in response to other questions, there is no dark or light, only innumerable shades of grey. We have our own sects and problems just like the Church does, and some people choose to go with a mix of Christianity (mainly Catholicism, not sure why this is) and Wicca. As long as they're not trying to call up some ghostie or ghoulie to eat the universe or something, most pagans are pretty good people.
Edit: I'd like to correct some people on some things.
Wicca as we know it today is NOT older than Christianity, not by a LONG shot. Modern Wicca was started in the 50's by a man named Gerald Gardner (a friend of Aleister Crowley), who was followed by Alex Sanders. Wicca as practiced in the days before our buddy Jesus came along was more closely related to the pagan Roman beliefs than what you think of as wicca. The Roman conquest pretty much wiped out anything that would have resembled wicca or witchcraft (even the Druids had to majorly change their ways to avoid getting murdered).

There are just as many, if not more, parallels between "satanism" and christianity. Magic does indeed have a dark side to it. It is up to YOU to use it wisely and only for "good" purposes. Keep in mind that the christian Satan is actually an Indian Fertility God. Anyone can practice magic. You don't have to be Wiccan. Also, the Wicca welcome ALL. It is nothing more than a matter of taking responsibility for your own actions.

wicca is an amalgamation of many pagan religions. You might want to study other forms of paganism besides wicca. It might interest you to know that there are witches who are not wiccan, and have been following a line from long before wicca came into being in the early 1950's. Some don't want anything to do with wicca, since it includes other beliefs as well as the witches' ones.

Youre one of the first to actually bring this up. I've been waiting on someone to bring it up for a while. I'm christian and a Strong one. But i wasnt alwayz this way, and have studied and expiremented with other religions...such as wicca. First, it's quite impressive that you have pulled of some magick. That shows that you have alot of faith. Despite what most may think., wicca doesnt have a strong connection with evil...anymore. However study will show it has a strong orgin on it. I would tell you the full answer and try to get points. But you should really study this for yourself. noone here online can fully help you understand this.

I don't know if you are aware that Wicca is older than Christianity and very much older than satanism.
Christianity began in the first couple of hundred years AD.
Satanism, which began as a protest against the cruel and despotic control of the Catholic church. began in the dark ages of Europe.
Also, you must be aware that religions copycat eachother. So, if there are satanist rituals which seem at all similar to rituals belonging to other religions, there is a Darn good reason for it. Also note that a lot of satanist rituals look like Catholic rituals - for obvious reasons.

So what exactly is your question?
Are Wiccans devil worshippers? No, because in Wicca, he doesn't exist!!
Are you saying there are some bad Wiccans who do things to hurt people? Then yes. Just like their are mean, hurtful people in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and any other religion out there.

My understanding of the Wiccan faith (correct me if I'm wrong), is that there is no good or evil, only nature. One may perceive things as good or evil, but truly it is just nature.
The pentagram and pentangle are used as a powerful symbol of faith. It represents Venus and the Morning Star - the bringer of light and knowledge. ***Christians even once used the pentangle as a symbol of the 5 wounds Jesus suffered***.(Ironic, don't you think?) Wicca predates Christianity.

"Even in GOD's church" Catholicism is not God's church.
Just remember one thing. There is only one God.
There are only two systems. One that is true and one that is false.
All other systems wicca or whatever are not His. They are false. People can believe whatever that want about wicca. It does not make it true.
When you study the truth in the bible you will understand how false those systems are.

Well at least we know you're a liar. Anyone who says "and i did some magick too" is an outright liar.
Unless of course you're talking about card tricks and I don't believe you are.
Besides anyone who's ever had anything to do with books on the subject, would be able to compose a coherent sentence.
Nice try kid, go play in traffick and do us all a favor ok? Thanks.
