Go to a professional colorist.
It might be a little pricey but if you try to achieve this look at home it might cost you more and you will probably not get the results you are looking for.
or
Go to your local beauty supply store and talk to a color specialist there, they should be able to answer all of your questions.

first off You CANNOT lighten colored hair with color it will can turn orange or worse..the best thing to do is put some highlights in with Bleach..You can remove the color with bleach but its very damaging to do that..best thing to do is let it grow out.
