ok let me elaborate here..my fiance may not be able to have children and even if he could i might want a child with a certain ethnicity or whatever.....that is the reason i am asking, i am not single and i CAN afford to raise a child, you do not have to be rich to raise a child right, you need to have enough!.

i've considered the legal issues...i will get them to sign a contract like they do for adoption that signs away all parental rights...i know how all the legal stuff works about that part, and i'm not going to sleep with anyone becuase i am engaged.....thier has to be some sort of tool or something that can trnsfer sperm into the vagina without killing it...i don't think the turkey baster thing would work lol

Explain your situation, and hope he can sympathize with what you're going through. One concern you should consider is that, even though you and he would not be having sex to concieve a child, he is still legally obligated to the child as his/her parent, so you should work something out, like deciding what role (if any) he will play in the child's life. Will the child know how he/she was conceived? You should also consider that the donor sign away his parental rights shortly after the baby is born so the state won't try to go after him for child support and things won't get messy for either of you in the future. It's in everyone's best interest. Also your partner (if you have one) cannot legally adopt the child, or share any type of joint/legal guardianship or custody with you unless the donor signs away his parental rights. Hope all goes well. Good luck.

hey, before persuing that avenue of asking for donations do me and the world and yourself a favor by preventing a mistake before it happens. Consult with an Infertility specialist regarding your options. I have used this method and highly recommend it and often times, depending on circumstances is covered by insurance. If you are considering my advice email me at i41and14all and I will connect you with the best in the business, she is close to sainthood. Fabulous person and very smart doctor. Get the facts before you consider an option. Remember what you are doing is going to affect more than just the two of you and the unborn should get the benefit of the doubt. It cannot hurt to consider her as a viable option. She will have input as to alternatives for you. She is a professional and a real nice person. This is serious business and you should cover all the avenues thoroughly. It is not like buying a refridgerator or appliance, you are talking about creating life. Give it its due diligence and know the options and downfalls of each. You will be glad you did.

Did you have a particular person in mind? What characteristics did you want (Smart, Funny, Tall, Short) -- What ethnicity?
You could ask Melissa Etheridge, she somehow got a donation from David Crosby...
I had thought about donating to a bank but was told that I am too old (45). I was not ready to donate when I was younger.
Anyway, once you have someone selected, I think you should get to know them a little and simply ask if they had thought about kids.
also, you need to lay down ground rules about their role in the child's life.

Think about what you are saying. How do you know that the donor is healthy? How would you know the background or history of the sperm if it is from a stranger? Do you realize that there is a procedure for handling sperm so that it is not contaminated? Go to a sperm bank.

Well this might sound a little harsh, figure out your fertile days and go sleep with someone.(Not a stranger and someone disease free) If you ask someone to donate they might want rights later on. If its just a guy thinking he is getting lucky then you got what you wanted.
