I am Italian and I want to move to California to reach some relatives living there and I'd like to be able to work and live there for a while.
What should I do???? What papers do I need? Who can I contact?
Thanks a lot!

Requirements vary based on your nationality I think. Generally, if you are not currently being petitioned for citizenship by a relative, you need to obtain a working visa which requires you being petitioned by a prospective employer based here in the US. The employer in turn has to prove that the position you will fill was offered first to US citizens but remained unfilled. Either that or that you have special qualifications that makes it important that only you fill the job position. This is just one way that I know of. Contact the US embassy in your country for more information.

You will need a valid passport and a proper visa - either work or school related - to enter the country and stay for an extended time. Contact the US Consulate or Embassy nearest to you in Italy to learn about all of the requirements for work and travel in the US. Good luck!

If you're going to try to get a job in the US, you need a work visa. And that usually involves the company you're working for sponsoring you.

You need to move somewhere else. It's already too crowded here. Go away now.
