Christians (like myself) know that this body we have is but a shell we live in on this world (planet) which is not our home world. We go to our home in Heaven. This would mean we are aliens to earth, would it not? What's your worldly view on this thought provoking question?

The Bible says that we are in this world, not of it... so, in a sense, we are ALIENS.. isnt that cool? lol

I have heard it preached many times that we are just aliens to earth, we are not of the world, we have dominion over the earth but we are aliens in this world. Here is the verse to back that up....
1 Peter 2:11
Dear brothers and sisters, you are foreigners and aliens here. So I warn you to keep away from evil desires because they fight against your very souls.
1 Peter 2:10-12

1 Peter 2 states that we are aliens to this world. This world is not our home, The presence of God is our home. We're just passing through. We are to be in this world and not of it. But we should be careful not to become so attached to the concept of not being of this world, and forget that we are to be in this world. The world does not understand the truth we have because their eyes are closed still. We must be a light and a hope to a dying planet that desperately needs a savior, whether they claim so or not.

Well, technically everyone has an eternal destination, so I guess we are all aliens. The Bible describes it more as "pilgrims" or nomads. Wandering the earth, doing God's will until He calls us home.

It is best to consider yourself as an alien , that way you are claiming you are only here temporarily and have a place in heaven

No, Christians see the earth as the place that we live in, heaven is where we belong and that is our destination. Life is the journey.

I think of heaven as more of just an alternate reality or universe, but still here on earth and not somewhere like Mars, and that kind of explains ghosts as well. But I guess we'll just have to wait and find out. :-)

Think of it as residing in a country. Sometime in teh future, we "immigrate" to heaven. So for now we are "citizens" of earth, not aliens.

Yes, why don't they cut to the chase and just take themselves to heaven immediately.
