my hair used to get that way when i was younger and would be outside alot. I realized that I wasn't washing my hair correctly. Make sure you aren't just washing the top layer, but are massaging the shampoo and conditioner deep into the hair and scalp. Also, make sure to use a good conditioner, it will help smooth out the texture of your hair so that tangles don't get stuck.

spray leave in conditioner on it and let it sit for a few minutes.
Start at the tip of the hair and slowly comb thru until you can start moving upwards.
Move up a little at a time and you should be able to get through the worst part of it in time.
It takes patience and there may be spots that you actually have to snip through the tangle to get it out but when you do son't cut straight across the hair shaft ut up into the tangle so it is not so obvious. Use the scissors as a last resort.

Get it wet, then put a deep conditioner on it...the one that comes in the box with L'Oreal Superior Preference hair dye is the best I've come across for detangling. It will help your hair slip out of the tangles. Then comb through, GENTLY with a wide-tooth comb starting at the bottom of your hair and working up.

Use a big pick and start at the bottom and work your way up. There are lots of tangle free sprays to put on your hair to help. Just be gentle with it.

Use a small amount of conditioner each time you wash your hair, comb your hair while in the shower and it'll be easier to get any tangles out. If that fails loreal kids (well as long as it works...) de-tangler is amazing lol good luck ;)

As a hair dresser I find that getting the hair wet and using a heavy conditioner (such as Biolage conditioning balm or cholesterol conditioner) and a large or wide tooth comb will work the best. After you get your hair wet and rub the conditioner in, start from the bottom with the comb and work your way up.

take a shower and rub conditioner through your hair.. brush you hair when you get out of the shower and don't blow dry it.. let it dry on it's own.. the conditioner should make it easier to brush out.
