Is it that grownups really dont understand, or is it they dont want to be bothered by it?

Grown ups have been there and done that, and you havent. There is not a single idea, thought, or notion in your head that has not be thought of before by some "grown up". One advantage an older person has over you is experience. They been through it already, and learned from it, while you read about it in books, magazines, newspaper, the internet, etc.

Kids like you think you know so much, but really know very little. But in time you will become an adult, and then you will realize how little we all really know.

Two opinions. You probably know a few things better than some adults but most of the stuff your basing your decision on is probably false because you haven't had enough experience in the world yet. But I believe kids can help an adult understand anything. Kids have this whole different point of view that makes adults see things in a different way. Some of their knowledge is right and they even make adults think. Keep on learning but get check your facts and sources before making an assumption.

I agree with the other girl. I remember when I was 12, I thought I knew everything. There are a lot of things you realize as you get older that you never knew about when you were younger. Being in your early 20s you will start to find out who you really are, at 12-16 you are really just mimicking everyone else. I think that it is impossible to know everything at 12 because you havent even become who you are going to be yet. Be grateful for the unknowing though, life is about learning as you grow older, just soak up everything you can.

Well, I'm not almost 12, but I am 14 (going on 15), and I feel the same way a lot of times. You know, you really shouldn't be here if you're 11, so take care of yourself. The Internet is a scary place.

I'm 36 y.o. and sometimes even I dislike the way adults talk down to young people. However, its important for you to understand that even if you know or understand something to listen because you may learn something you didn't know or be able to see something from a different point of view.

I have to agree. From experience, I feel I know less or unsure of more @ 36 than when I was in my teens.
Of course I was extremely mature for my age and didn't have all the luxuries the kids these days have. But none the less, it certainly seemed the answers were more clear cut then, than they are now.

It's good that you help your peers, and obviously, they would feel better talking to someone their own age about their problems than an adult. You need to be careful in giving advice though - one wrong can undo 100 rights.

Are you considering social work or psychology as a career when you are older?

I recommend that you read "The Teenagers Guide to the Real World" by Marshal Brain
The proof that you don't know much is that you think you do.
