Ok Folks. its clear to me that everyone is saying 2 things. yes it is the devils work, or no it's not because the devil is a christian created creature. so if witch's dont worship satan, them WHY is he in most of the witchcraft book? if the witch's say we dont even think there is a devil, because its a christian thing, then why is he in a witch's/wiccans books? like Raymond Bucklands "book of withcraft",where he says a witch said, that the devil had sex with her and his penis was big and cold. then on other pages it shows
G.gardner,a painting with devils demons, dancing on his head.that does not sound like a path i want to follow.garald gardner brought witchcraft to america, the sweet nature loving religon.right? then why does he have demons on his head?
so you see my wiccan earth nature friends,u say not the devil, yet thou hast cast him in thyn books. i just see wicca as a contradictor. im still not sure of anything yet. dont think im gonna find an easy answer. ipod.

Religions are not good or bad, or, right or wrong. It is people who make them that way. There are people who seek religion for truth, and there are people who use it, to make excuses for there actions. I am sure that you have seen the later more.

Satan does he exist or is he just a made up boogie-man who scares us into church, so they can take our money? Obviously I am bias. What is going to rule your life? How you feel or how someone tells you to think?

There are no hard facts in faith.

Satanism and Wicca are not the same thing and are often confused. Wicca is about having respect for and learning from nature and does not include the Devil because that is a concept from Christianty and not a Wiccan one.

Please dont be so quick to cast judgements on a religion just because you have seen contradictory evidance, probably confused evidance at that. Do some reading, there are a lot of very good Wiccan websites out there that will explaine it a lot clearer for you.

People are quick to denonuce something that they dont understand because they are basically afraid of it, and unfortunatly Wicca as a religion has had a lot of that but once you get past all the false tales that have been told over hundreds of years and actually speak to someone who knows ther stuff you will realise that Wiccans do not murder people in ther sleep, put hexes on others or sacrifice animals, as it is known that anything you do, good or bad will come back three fold.

I hope you find the answers you are looking for on your journeys.

Blessed Be.

I am guessing that like any religious belief, the individuals within the group disagree on certain matters. So, whereas you may ask one wiccan what they believe about a devil, that answer may disagree with what another wiccan believes. However, something as major as whether or not there was a devil, I wouldn't think that was a disagreement. I suppose it is possible that one person lied to you, as I understand that some witches don't want you to know that they are worshipping the devil. Keep in mind, I do know there are two major groups, in which they call themselves "good witches" or "bad witches." and so they would have different beliefs and practices.

I don't know what Witchcraft books you are reading, but mine don't include the Christian devil.

I have All ray buckland's books and I don't recall te passage you quote. Could you site the page number and context??

I think what you perceive is demons is actually the God Pan or the God Baphomet where the Christians got the idea to give the devil horns.

I am sorry you are so ignorant to our ways. You must not know any Wiccans.

There are different types of witchcraft. The one your talking about is devil worship. The witchcraft in Wicca never mentions Satan/Lucifer/Devil. In fact, not all Wiccans are witches so I don't see why many Christians say Wicca is evil black magic.

It seems you are the type of person who has a misinformed idea in your head that you believe to be true. Nothing I can say or do will change your mind regarding this issue. There is no point in even trying to explain the Wiccan symbolism or history to you as you choose to believe that it is of the devil. All I can say is I hope someday you are able to open up your mind to the beauty of other belief systems than yours, particularly Wicca.

Blessed be!

Wiccans do not believe in Satan, nor do they believe in God.

In many different areas of Wicca, the belief is that if you believe in Satan, then you make him real. Therefore, Wiccans do not believe in Satan in order to deny evil passage into their lives.

The books you mentioned may be referring to misconceptions about Wicca. Many Christians and people of other faiths believe that because Wiccans dance around in the moonlight naked and other such things that they are summoning demons or even impersonating them. This is untrue, they are simply communicating with the Goddess and celebrating her as well.

Isaiah chapter 14 talks about Lucifer's fall, aka Satan. There is no desciption of his looks in Scripture but in the Mioddle Ages the Christian Church adopted the look of Satan from Wicca. It is the horned god; most likely because they thought he looked evil. If that helps

Not even worth explaining to you . I HAVE that book and have been a witch (NOT a fluffy Wiccan thank you very much!) all my life........ You have read the book out of context just like alot of Xtians read the bible out of context. As I said, according to your attitude, it will do no good to explain things simple enough for you to understand so I won't waste my time, Have a nice life and get your a$$ to church, it's where you belong

Not the devil. You are confusing this with Herne, horned god of the hunt, who doesn't carry a trident to spear the father son and holy ghost with.
