To be fair, I do not think Christianity is "anti science". However, if "scientists" say one thing, and the bible says another, I will always believe the bible. Why? Well...science changes it's findings often. It was thought at the dawn of travel by train that being in a vehicle moving at 25mph would asphyxiate a person.
Therefore, I don't take what science has to say as always true.
You're right, there are alot of diverging opinions on what the bible has to say; alot of disagreement. But truth is not ruled by the majority. Truth is truth, whether one person believes it, or millions.
Instead of lumping people together, why not ask one Christian, why do you believe the bible? You might have better luck. I believe the bible because I've studied it for about 10 years and seen it proven true over and over.
Getting off on a tangent about bible versions, etc. is not going to answer your question. I would say that except for a few versions of the bible that have been changed to match up with their own beliefs (i.e., Jehovah's Witnesses, or Mormons) most bibles are merely more modern language translations of the original texts.

The majority of people used to think that women shouldn't have rights and that it was O.K. to own other people too. Did that make them right?
Just because "The majority of people aren't Christians" doesn't mean Christianity is wrong.
It also doesn't mean that Christians are wrong because they can't agree on the best translation of the Bible or that they believe different ways to worship. The original Bible was written hundreds of years ago and people have translated it the best they can, but there's onlt so much they can do to make it perfect and of course as long as there are different versions, some people are going to think different versions are the right ones are follow what that version says.
Further, While many CHRISTIANs are anti-science, largely because they can't see the fact that the two AREN'T contradictory or mutually exclusive, it's only because they feel threatened by it, the same way that many scientists feel threatened by religion and thus are strongly anti-religion.

How is Christian anti science? Most Christians with the exception of two which claim to be Chrisatian but are not agree on the true gospel of Christ and there are cults in everything including science....Are you aware that some of the greatest scientist of all time believed in a supreme being....are you aware that scripture that came from thousands of years ago said the road was narrow..if you were as well studied as you claim you owuld be aware that Christianity isnt a popularity contest we wont be voting on who has the truth and if we did do you think it would change the truth?

Nice. Pick on Christians. Come on. First, religion being an anti-science is an opinion to support your question, which is based on fact(arguably). Further, it's not Christians, it's everyone. Every person in the world believes what they believe, including Christians(of all sects), Hindu's, Buddhits, Davidians, Heaven's Gate, Satanists, and even athiests. Why pick on Christians, bud? What's the grudge? Sounds like you've got some issues.

Christians think this is the only religion because thats what the are taught through generations, also most Christians that I have met are so narrow in their thinking that they do not even ealize there are so many other religions. The do not know that there are other books and just dont so how twisted the are in their thinking. I have never been able to figure it out, other than this real fear that they would actually burn in some fiery hell. Thae also visualize heaven in a real wordly way like it was a real place.

It's ethnocentrism. They believe that they are right and everyone else is wrong. They think that if somebody isn't a Christian, that person is a horrible person. Their beliefs don't allow for acceptance of certain foreign ideas either. Take, for instance, the idea of the sun being the center of the solar system. It took the church a long time to accept it. By the way, Christians make up closer to 1/3 than 1/4 of the world's population.

Most people believe that their religion is the BEST one or the ONLY one. I am a Christian. But I say, most of us believe in the same God, so what difference does it make?. Aren't we all supposed to be working together instead of against each other? I am a Southern Baptist, and if you are Catholic, Lutheran, Muslim or whatever, are we not worshiping the same God? We all have different theories. But are still all the same. Think about it people...
GOOD QUESTION!!!

Christianity as a whole do not believe that one person is better than the other. Whether religion is right for you, is a question only you can answer. The fundamental belief amongst Christianity is that we live to love not hate, forgive others instead of holding hatred and to pray instead of seeking vengence. Scientificly you need to look at human personality and get the answer of who has a better chance at a fulfilling life with real hopes.

I would think every religion thinks theirs is the right one or why would they believe it? I imagine you believe what you believe because you think it is right or better or why would you believe something you thought was wrong or inferior to other beliefs? Christians believe the Bible which teaches that it teaches the truth. Your issue is with what the bible teaches, not what Christians believe. You seem to be bashing Christians for believing what they believe is right, what about you? I guess you believe what you believe is wrong! If not, then you are in the exact same position as the Christian and therefore criticizing your self...

Christianity is not a religion, Christian is a person who follow Christ. So it is a life style and because the results is why they/we think is the right way... Try it out... Try a relationship with the Christ and we will see if you ask the same question again.
