It worked fine for a few months. Now I have to keep installing it. When a want to play a video I get the message saying you do not have WMP fully installed. This is happening everyday. It works for maybe a few hours then that message comes on. I tried the rollback and that doesn't work, it says you have a newer version of WMP installed. I install it correctly everytime and it says it's installed. Tried everything. I use it for searching for videos for my site mainly. Please help, frustrating.

I used to have that happen. I just gave up on it and started to use something called VLC Media Player. It is free, just search www.download.com for it. It can play anything and everything, it is quite possibly THE best media player out there :)
OR go to Microsoft.com and get support from them directly, who better to answer a question then the manufacturer?

If it's telling you that you have a new WMP installed, then are you sure you're opening the right WMP? It sounds like you have two different versions installed.

On the otherhand, it is possible that the newer version isn't completely installed. In this case what you'll need to do is uninstall all versions of WMP and install only the version 10.

I got tired of those little stunts by Windows Media Player. I ended up downloading the K-Lite codec pack for free. That codec pack includes a free video player, Media Player Classic, that does not have nearly as many problems as Windows Media Player. The only drawback is that it doesn't play playlists.
