Are you serious? A woman's place is in the congregation and/or choir. Men make better preachers as they speak with authority.

There is a passage in 1 Timothy 2:12 where supposedly the Apostle Paul (most experts believe this book was a later forgery) says he does not permit a woman to teach or have authority over a man. The reason given is that Adam was made first, then Eve, but a woman can be saved by having children.

For those who insist this was really written by Paul, you have some problems reconciling this with other passages. In Acts 18:26, Paul is taught by a woman, Priscilla.

In Romans 16, he calls Priscilla a fellow worker, and he also says Junias (a female name) is outstanding among the apostles.

In 1 Corinthians 11:4, Paul assumes that women pray and prophesy in church, which would be a form of teaching, wouldn't it?

I guess it should be more said that women cannot not have authority over a man, doesn't mean they can't spread the gospel. That is the great commission. Women are not the head of their household (over their husbands) nor should they be over a congregation with men in it.

It doesn't have anything to do with what we feel to be right, but what God says. I didn't like it at first but when I came to a complete understanding I got it. There are a lot of verses above that are correct. I guess you have to understand that yes, Jesus spoke to women, did he say he hated women? Of course not! He is just a God of order and His order is God, Man, Women, Child. I personally don't want to be a Pastor, I am too emotional as a women and know that I can't do it. Read 1 & 2 Timothy for a better understanding of the order in Church.

Do not let people tell you that Paul was only speaking for that time in history. God is the same today, tomorrow and right now. The bible doesn't change. The word stays the same. I would suggest studying the order of God.

I am giong to get it for this one, so I will reiterate carefully...
I don't believe women can be head pastor of a church. I see no problem if a wife is pastor as long as her husband is the senior pastor. It falls in line with the family authority created by God. It is the man of the house who is responsible for the household. A pastor is in position of authority over the flock.
Can a women preach? I have no problem with it. I have told my wife the pastor is not the authority over her in the church, I am. The pastor is the head over me in the church. Hence, you hace a chain of command and hierachy provided by God.
Can women prohesy? Yes. Can women speak in tongues? Yes. Can women preach? Yes. Can women lead a church? No. How can she be the head over her husband in the church but be in submission at home? That is contradiction.

Paul said, "I do not let women teach men or have authority over them. Let them listen quietly." (1 Tim 2:12) But that was because up to that point women were not included in learning like men had been. Jewish customs did not allow it. So, he was saying that because they were recently allowed "in" the same world as men, it wouldn't be wise at that time.

Go to 1 Timothy 2 (KJV) and it tells basically women are to be seen and not heard. "8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

9In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

You can continue with 1 Timothy 3 and it further implies the same.

1 Timothy 2:19-15
9Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments,
10but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.
11A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
13For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
14And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
15But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint

The Bible was written by men who wanted to keep women in subservience. They forgot that Jesus loved women and often looked to them for advice and comfort. Gee advice and comfort sounds like a minister type to me!!!! If you notice when people quote the Bible it's always and only Paul in his letters? I think maybe Paul didn't like women???

Corinthians 14:34-35

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
