I hear people say I believe in this and I believe in that, but what does it have to do with how you live each day and what you do? Has your belief or faith cost you anything?

I believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. I have a relationship with them and everyday I spend my day with them. I have a God who never leaves me nor forsakes me and He is always with me.
I read the bible every day because it is Life to me and His personal letter to me everyday. I praise and worship Him and then I pray with friends off and on the day. I have been praying with a close friend for almost 4 years, lifting up those who are hurting and need help.... I also have a ministry where I help single Mom's who need food, because God wants to help them in their struggles and challenges..... I can not imagine a day without the Heavenly Father and all He is to me. He is not someone with answers. He is THE ANSWER..... My Father, My help in times of trouble, My ALL and All......... He is the best........ That is my Faith and Hope and soon and soon I will be with Him for eternity.

I was raised moderately Muslim, but in a multi-religious household. Now, I'm an agnostic who is inching more and more towards atheism every day.

For me, it gives me peace to simply live by the golden rule - to treat people how you want to be treated. I feel like live more in the now, instead of an imaginary "afterlife" - and learning to be nice to people, do good things, act consciously for the now - something that I at least I am positive is worthwhile.

My beliefs have not cost me anything. I've always had doubts, but after years of studying most religions, many cultures, and scriptures - embracing the relativity of it all has given me the most peace of mind.

The ideas that I have faith in now have cost me a warm, loving relationship with my dad's very Christian family. They seem to think I'm less of a person because I don't go to church every Sunday like they do and it's very hard for me to respect them because of the mean and hurtful things they have said to my parents over the years. I do not believe them to be good Christians like they think they are - they are spiteful, arrogant and judgemental. My parents taught me to treat others how I want to be treated - and my dad's family seem to have forgotten about this golden rule.

As for how my ideas about god influence my daily life - I see signs every day that are pointing me in the right direction and that little voice in my head is constantly whispering the things I need to change and do something about. I'm usually just either too lazy or stubborn to listen. - I didn't say I was perfect.

I get my faith a little here, a little there, and just from learning things as I go! It comes because ether someone decided that it was important for me to know, or I decided that was important for me to know. Am I suppose to do something about it thou well I wasn't informed of that! My faith sometimes teaches me a thing or two but I would not say that it costs me a thing except a little bit of time and I am not dead so I figure I will have as much time as I need!

My faith is in humanity. That we will rise above the ignorance that religion inspires. That we will no longer kill in the name of a deity who we think is supposed to inspire peace. Religion is holding us back. I have faith that we will one day soon educate more and more of our society so that we can rid ourselves of our religious crutch.
