People who believe in the christian "GOD" are about as screwed up as they come. The Christians think its OK to strive after riches and stepping on their fellow man to get what they want. MEGA-CHURCHES are one of the most sickening things around yet the Christians flock to hear some as#hole tell them they need to give MORE to the church or they will be looked down on. They think it's OK to be materialistic and ostentatious yet they don't get how stupid they look. My "GOD" takes no form of a simple minded man. Oh no, it's the air we breath, the sun we see, the stars that light up the night sky. The smile on a child's face. The miracle of the butterfly emerging from it's cocoon. The wonder of a thunder storm. The ability to dip your hand into a stream and have CLEAN water to drink (NOT WITH BUSH AND THE REPUBLICANS IN OFFICE) The wonder of a night blooming Cereus flower that opens so magnificently but for one night a year.

The christian god is but a man made god no different than past and present cultures that believe a cow, a snake, a jaguar or volcano is a god. Hell is but another man made boggy man made up by Christians to try and make others do what they want. If your a fool enough to believe in the Christian god then for your sake I hope there is a hell for you after all. Because as far as I'm concerned there is NO EVIL GREATER THAN THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT.

If you think he's real, why do you doubt he's great? If you believe one part of the Bible (for example hell) why don't you believe the other part (for example God's love, kindness, mercy, forgiveness, and great ness)?

Do you think that someone who continuously sins on purpose with absolutely no remorse and they don't want salvation, do you think they will go to Heaven?

It's like a report card at the end of the year. You get a lot of chances to do it right, but if you choose to do the wrong thing and not do what you are supposed to, you fail. Of course if you are trying and want to pass you will get extra help from the teacher (that would be Jesus).

You can't just believe in one part of the Bible that God is good and he is good all the time and ignore that in the end he will be our judge...

It's not about what I think. There are a ton of opinions and ideas out there. What matter's is, what is the Truth. So here is Truth...

God gives us plenty of opportunities to know Him and His Son Jesus Christ. In fact, scripture says that God doesn't wnat anyone to die without having a knowledge of Jesus and forgiveness for sins from Jesus. Scripture says that even creation testifies to the fact there is a Maker.

The thing is, when people reject the Truth that there is only one way to the Father and that is through Jesus Christ, there is consequences to that choice. The consequence of the rejection of Jesus Christ is eternal seperation from God. God's not happy with that, but it's a choice that we were given. For those who choose to live a life apart from God, they recieve exactly what they wanted, an eternity seperated from God.

God is a loving God, but he is also a just God. So he holds us accountable for the choices we make. Sometimes in this life, but always in the next.

-- I apologize if you thought I was angry. Actually, totally the opposite. You asked a question and I answered it with no animosity at all. Actually, I thought I was pretty straight foward, without any emotional input at all. Did God tell me, yes! He told me through his infalliable word, the Bible. Am I brainwashed, not at all, in fact I am very much my own person.

Hell was an idea invented when the Jews didn't understand why the Gentiles who did not believe in their God were successful and apparently were never punished for the evil things they did.
For instance, how could a rich Greek man who had sex with little boys, treats his slaves badly and makes no effort to obey Yahweh's laws live in luxury and die an easy, comfortable death?
How is that fair? Ahh, God must punish him AFTER he dies!

Yea what I wonder is how can a gracious loving God send someone to hell who doesn't even know about him? There are many tribes in Africa that don't know a thing about the Christian God, and many in the past that didn't know either but it says in the bible that if you do not take ask God to forgive you of your sins you will not go to heaven.... so how is this gracious? Isn't is someone elses fault for not telling them?

God gave us free choice. He doesn't want us to be like robots worshiping him. He loves us and gave us an opportunity to not die and go to hell, but mankind messed it up. So...out of kindness and love he sent his Son to save us through GRACE. We don't deserve it...we should all be going to hell cause no one man is perfect, only Jesus. All he wants us to do is believe in him, know he is God and follow what he wants. The common saying that everyone believes is "why do bad things happen to good people". Well, there are not good people, we are all bad and sinful and deserve eternal damnation. The saying should go "why do good things happen to bad people". We are all bad and why do we even get the chance to live in heaven forever. That's cause Jesus saved us and through him we have that opportunity.

Because - the Church needed a way to keep the little sheep in line, so they invented this myth of Hell and Satan (neither were mentioned in the first Bibles) to scare the bejesus (pun intended) out of you.

Now, quite thinking for yourself and blindly obey Church dogma like a good little Christian! Or I'll condem you to Hell!

God wants heaven to be an awesome place for all of us. He wants there to be peace, Joy and a place where there is no unholiness. If He allows everyone to come , then it would be like earth. He wants it to be a place where all who are there truly Love Him and want to serve Him for eternity.
He created hell for the devil and his angels. He does not want anyone to perish. But if someone refuses Him, then He has not choice...
If someone was to come into your home and they were not liking you and being unkind to you, would you keep them there? No... you would want your home to be a place of peace .Why should God be expected to do the same...

God doesn't send people to hell. They choose this destination themselves.

If people choose to live this meager time on earth without God, then eternity should be no problem.

Free will to choose. Chose wisely.

God does not send anyone to hell. Everyone has a choice to live right or wrong. If you choose wrong, then you send yourself to hell.
