Maturity does not have much to do with intelligence. It does seem to have a correlation because those who are more mature are able to sit through and concentrate on intelligence tests. However, in normal people, immature children do not mean unintelligent adults (as maturity onsets).

There is now new research that says intelligence comes from these cells that feed the Neurons in the brain. They secrete a special protein that helps the nurons work better. Apparently, Einstein had 7 times more of these cells than average humans.

Some are not in control of their emotions. Just because you know something intellectually doesn't mean you accept it emotionally. There is a theory that there are several types of intellect. I don't remember them all, but some are musical, math, language, and athletics. That might account for how dumb smart people can be. I have an above average IQ, but I used to be extremely gullible. I trusted what I was told as the truth.

I suppose so. But if you did all of these things and didn't discipline them, that can almost be as damaging to them as disciplining them too much. They need rules to abide by and if they don't do so they should be punished. Just because someone was abused doesn't mean they can't discipline their child. They just need to do it in a better way than what their parents did.

Heavens yes.. Intelligence has no effect on emotional issues. Intelligent people still resent, live in denial, feel shame and fear, etc etc.

Yes, I have a son that is 28 and he is more immature than I was at 16. Nothing is his fault, i.e. DWI's, tickets, etc.
