It hurts mostly because you get used to that specific someone, the way they are, the way they act, react, the way they kiss, feel, their good, their bad.... It's hard because you've put so much effort into this one person, now for whatever reason, they are just gone. It's sad because even though you are no longer a couple... the truth is you WERE AT ONE TIME... and now that's done. It's sad when things end. It's hard moving on and redoing that whole relationship thing again, but it's the only way to finally just get on with it. Obviously something has caused the split up and that will continue...... keep focused on that.

Because you were/are in love with them.
You put your faith and trust in them and it is broken.
If they are the one that initiated the breakup, it hurts you pride, you want to know whats wrong with you, what you did wrong, why you weren't good enough for them, etc.
Your'e used to spending time with this person, and have grown close to them physically and mentally and you will miss that.
It is just a sad, low, time in your life, but it will get better, as the saying goes, "time heals all wounds", and you will find someone else that makes you happy and is better suited to your needs.
Good luck!

That is just theway it is when you really care about that person. My advice to you is to take it one day at a time and try to keep yourself busy. You will get through this eventually. The pain won't go away but it will become less intense.
All these things are a part of life and it comes with the territory, just try and take it easy and allow yourself some time and space to grieve. It is a natural reaction to loss.

because your heart is involved.... you have to be careful who you share it with. That's how people sleep around with no conscious....they keep feelings out of the equation, but the moment you put your heart and soul into it....now you have invested something that you can never take back....so if things go sour.... it hurts to watch something you put time and energy into go down in flames. ( I know... just found out about an affair and is separated preparing for Divorce.)

Could be your fear of regretting your decision to leave that person. -or- your feeling of being rejected. Whichever end you're on, it all basically comes down to how you perceive yourself and your level of confidence in who you are.
Are you breaking up with them or is it the other way around?

for a girl,
if it is the guy that dumped the girl or the girl that dumped the guy, it doesn't matter, the girl will still be jealous when she sees the guy with another girl becuse she knew that she was once that girl.
