You weren't "robbed" of a wedding. You chose not to have a large wedding and reception. Giving yourself a wedding now -- after a year and a child -- is just tacky. Why not give yourself a first anniversary party instead?

I am going to my distant relative's wedding in August. She is 27 years old and her and her fiance have been together for 12 years and they already have a 9 year old daughter together. They already finished college and have good jobs. They'll have a church wedding and a wedding reception with a bunch of guests. I'm guessing 100 guests more or less.
You can either wait till your finished with college and are financially stable to have a big wedding like my distant relative with all your family and friends. You can have a wedding in your 5 or 10 year anniversary but this time it will be called a renew your vows wedding since you're already married.

Technically, you can't have a wedding because that is the legal term for it and you did that with the courthouse wedding. However, there is absolutely no reason in the world why you can't have a vow renewal or a reaffirmation ceremony. This is directly from one of my textbooks:
"A reaffirmation ceremony is a special wedding ceremony that's conducted in order for a couple to "repeat" their marriage vows shortly after they originally made them. For example, if a couple is married in a civil ceremony and then later has a religious blessing of the marriage, it's considered to be a reaffirmation ceremony."
You can certainly have a party or a dinner afterwards and do it the way you want to. Hope that helps.

Have a renewing of the vows. IT is the same as a wedding but everyone feels it a sweet gesture. Most people have a renewing of the vows ceremony after 5 -10 or 20 years though so do it either way.
Call it a wedding or renewing. It is for your satisfaction so do what you want.

No it is not to late to have a big wedding. Besides if you are church going people or a little religious you can have your ceremony in a church under the eyes of the lord and do it like that so you are getting married in a different way.

Yes, it's too late, don't cry over it now. An anniversary party would be nice though. You could do a vow renewal but do not try to make it a second wedding. That's very tacky.

Heck no. You just open up a saving account and start saving and soon you'll have your wedding. Weddings make the best parties and every women deserves to be a bride and every man deserves to be a groom. You should start planning your wedding.

Yea, it's too late for a wedding, I agree it's kinda tacky. but you can have a party.. People aren't to comfortable with coming and giving gifts and celebrating something that has already happened but a nice get together would be nice.

It's a little late to wear a white puff virgin bride dress and prance around but it's never to late to have a nice vow renewal!! You could have a nice wedding in a simple white or light color dress or my favorite a classy suit and have a fancy reception.

Since a bit of time has passed since your were officially married, why not renew your vows? It can be just as elaborate as a wedding and you can still have the reception of your dreams.
