Believe it or not...All this different religions were created by man...?

Question

A group of people disagreed on beliefs...some of the people left and created their own religion or cult with their beliefs and gave it a name. If you believe it cool if not cool...lets talk about it.......

I agree.
I think that religion was a device created by early mankind to explain the unexplainable, to create some social order and it was exploited by some people who had various socio-political agendas.
I'm not denying that many, many people find their religion a source of comfort and I would not deny them their faith. I feel that religion has evolved with time, although some of the dogma has remained in the past.
I'm sure lots will disagree, but that's just my own tuppenth worth.

I think God is unknowable. People can only see a part of him--sort of like the 5 blind men with the elephant. They then believe in the part of Him that they experience, even though there's much more to him. That would explain why there are so many religions--they are each seeing a different face of God.

You are correct... all religions were created by man. However, God created man in his image that we may have an eternal relationship with him. Seek God first and all things will be added unto you.

Christ created the Catholic church - any brief perview of the church fathers tells us this. Men with personal agendas, who wanted their own religions, broke from that church beginning in the 17th century.
