To those of you that like sweet tea, how much sugar do you put in the pitcher?

Start off with one cup, then if it is not sweet enough for you then add another 1/2 cup until you get the right amount of sweetness that you desire.

WAY TOO MUCH !!! If you have ever been to any diner in the south, we have the best sweet tea. It' taken a bit of trial and error, but discovered the perfect ratio, 1 1/4 cup to a full gallon of brewed tea. Another trick is brewing the tea concentrated by adding the tea to boiling water then adding the sugar to the hot tea. pour the hot sweetened tea over ice and adding cold water to the remainder of the pitcher. Now you have the recipe to the perfect,southern style sweet tea.

it depends on taste two cups is rather a lot but if you like sweet then that's gonna do it. in an average pitcher you usually add 1 to 1 and a half cups of sugar. but it also depends on the strength of the tea you are using.

If youare using a standard tupperware one gallon pitcher i usually fill the bottom of the pitcher with about 1/2 inch of sugar, if I want it really sweet I put 3/4 inch....not sure what that would be in cups probably about 2 1/2 almost 3.......then put it in the fridge and let it get cold and fill my 32 oz. tumbler up without ice and enjoy.

Actually, you go to the market and buy pre-sweetened iced tea mix with sugar and lemon flavor [its 2 scoops to a quart], and just add the water.
