Brandy is Deaf, has Arthrities (which I give her medicene for) and Hazy Eyes, but may be getting Cataracs. She sleeps all the time, except when she eats. She uses Piddles Pads in the house, but she acts ashamed of herself. Poms are very Fussy Dogs, they only like to Potty in 1 area outside. I wonder if Old Dogs remember what they used to do. Like 3 mile walks; sitting in their Special Place Outside; Sleeping on your bed instead of now on the floor with lots of Pillows, Piddle Pads under lots of sheets too. I hope Brandy does remember the fun times. But I also wonder, do Dogs know when their life is close to being over?

Pomeranians can live long lives if properly cared for. Anywhere from 15 - 17yrs is a good long life. I work at a Veterinary Hospital in Texas and have seen one live to 22 yrs. It depends on a lot of variants: Food, exercise, love....You need to worry about quality of life for them when they become a senior. Some people keep them alive with horrible ailments and can't let go....I do believe that they settle down a bit and recall the ones they love when time comes to pass. Just love them and care for them as much as you can when they are with you. :)

Since you are simplest 17 I'm no longer certain if you'll be able to legally move and are living someplace else with out the consent of your father. If you simply depart and take a look at to are living someplace else, he would record you as a runaway and then you definately'd get in main issue. Not certain how lengthy it's earlier than you flip 18, however an additional factor to remember (no longer recommending this although) is an emancipation. It is going via the courts and you'll be able to emancipate your self out of your dad and mom. You must assess the legislation there earlier than you remember this and you'll by and large must speak to a legal professional. My recommendation is attempt to grasp in there till you are 18. It can also be rough however do not burn any bridges.

I think dogs know when there dieing, Some try to hide and die to not let the owners down, Small indoor dogs live 2 times longer then big outside dogs. I wish the best for both of you, And I hope when the time comes, You both are ok with it. Take Care.

My uncle had a dog that lived to be 21-22.....I think smaller dogs have longer life expectancies....I have a poodle that's 16 and still in great condition.....But I do think they know when it's almost over....just like old people know when it's almost time....they say good bye sometimes....in special ways that you don't notice until after they're gone

17 years is old, even for a small dog. She will probably only make it about a year. you can't stop death but you can make her comfortable, let her bask in the sun, pee her old spot, just make her remember the good times.
