There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me is...

(L)isten: and Validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Real love is an obsession with a professional soccer team, which can be found in Madrid. ;)

Seriously, I gauge love I have experienced by comparing it with 1st Corinthians 13 & replacing the word "love" with the word "I." Instead of "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, etc.", I change it to "I am patient, I am kind. I do not envy, I do not boast, I am not proud, I am not rude, I am not self-seeking, etc." and see if the statement remains true.

This little exercise helps me whether I am acting in a loving way towards the woman in question, and whether my motives and feelings are genuine or suspect. This little trick may not work for you, but it has helped me know when to hold them & when to fold them. ;)

Real love is something unconditional. Real love is when you can't stand to be without a person. When everything that person is just so cute and you can't imagine yourself without them. You can't find real love. It finds you. When you go searching for real love, you become disappointed because it turns out to not be real love but just lust. When the time is right real love will find you.

Love is merely brain chemicals flowing in a certain way. While there are no drugs that can induce love, there are a few drugs that can induce emotion much more pleasurable than love in the brain, the only catch is that they last hours, and not years.
They are cocaine, MDMA(ecstasy), and LSD

There's no way to explain it. Just by living that is the only way you can know. By experiencing different relationships, it takes time for true love to develop. Anything else is just infatuation which is far from love.

Real love is when you and your partner "match" and accept each other for who they are and love each other. It also helps that you have chemical attractions with the pheromones.
