My first step would be to call a doctor for recomendations, if your child has no allergies to foods then you should try things like...a small amount of prunes or prune juice, apple sauce or apple juice, green vegtables. Use the web and go to http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ and do a search, you should be happy with the results.

It helps to know how old your son is. A lot of water will help as will apple juice and prune juice. If he is a young baby (younger than 6 months), I would check with your doctor before giving him juice. Six month old to 1 or 2, I would dilute the juice. If all else fails, you can use the glycerin suppositories that are designed for babies and young children.

Best of luck. I hope he feels better.

There is baby castoria available at the pharmacy and it tasts like rootbeer so children dont mind taking it. Also mineral oil helps soften the stools of babies and is tolerated well.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse, before you can give him/her a laxative(which I am against) you must find the cause, but i used to give mine a little cod liver oil in their bottle. E mail me if you need any further advice but give me your full e mail address for a reply

I've heard about something called Mannitol, which is a baby laxative-ask a pharmacist if it's available over-the-counter at your local drug store.

it's all about the diet he has; try to give your son a variate menu each day. the youghurt might help. after he eats the youghurt, he should drink a glass of water.

hope this will help you.

You can give him watered down apple juice or prune juice or wiggle a thermometer very slightly in his anus.
