Does anyone belive that there is more than one god? That god is not a man but god consists of two sides. The male and female side. The male side being the wise and intelligence and the female side being emotional and caring. I know there is such a thing as polytheism but does anyone think that churches are just streching the truth about religion and that god is not one being. It is made of two. I hate the way churches push religion in your face and how they try to persuade you to become "one of them" religously? I think that there is NOT one god. But there are many gods. What do you think?

Believing in two deities is duotheism. Although I don't believe in duotheism, I know many people who do.
I believe in polytheism, or rather many individual deities. I don't believe in the concept that "all gods are one god" either. Just as all of my female ancestors were not one female ancestor. They are each individuals.

Dear Fatcatwhisker,

It is remarkable the ideas that come forth out a person's mind. Do you believe in the Easter Bunny? or Santa Claus? Or maybe you think that the moon or the sun is a god. Mybe you believe that an indian woman with six arms that demands blood sacrifices is god. I am not brilliant or famous but I do know that there is One God. His name is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the One that created ALL things by just speaking. When a man "makes" something, he has to come up with an idea, get the materials together to build a model, and then refine it until it can be replicated. The Lord did not need any plans or building materials--He just spoke!! That is power! And you may askl where is your proof? The oldest book is: the Bible. Records of writing go back to approximately 4000+ B.C. We live in 2006 A,.D. so that means the Bible is about 6000 years old. I cannot make yo to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Only God can open your eyes. However, if you would like further info type www.familyradio.com into your web browser. i hope this will help you.

I think that there are many Gods. The idea of one God makes about as much sense as the idea of one person, or one animal. What's the point. What a boring world this would be! One person can do nothing. Can't make more people, can't build pyramids, can't synergize. Synergy is the basis of everything new, thus it must've been for creation!

I think the idea of any God being all MAN is also ludicrous. After all, it's a friggin God. Male-ness is a material state that exists for the sole purpose of procreation. Gods don't need to pump uglies to procreate, so why would they have them? Unless, of course, they took on mortal form to bump mortal uglies, which has been known to happen, but it doesn't mean that God is a male or female, just that the form it took was. And if God was male and there was only one of Him, he couldn't create anything anyway, because penis's are useless without a womb. Well... maybe not completely useless, but they sure can't create life.

Hi.
I think there are many gods.
Anything we worship, becomes our god , i think..
I think the God that all religions and faiths believe in, states that we should worship that one God only, for the sake of our souls.
God is not man, i agree, but is male, ( a power, a spirit ) the word, the seed. Any seed is male.
The female part is the earth, which on the spiritual side , is our minds.
The devil is also a seed, a spirit, a power, and our minds also female to that, if we allow it.
I see your point about 'pushing' there are so many, and all claim to be right..actually most teach good, we should keep the good, and reject the bad ?
To find the one true God, is that not the question, or task ?

I'm not sure exactly what there is 'up-there', but I do believe there is something. The Earth we live on is so beautiful that it couldn't have just evolved over millenia without some help, but I'm not ready to put a name or face to this supreme being. Yes, I believe that even if there is only one God, that it has many sides. Christians these days often try to force feed the idea that they are right about everything, but I'll stick with my own beliefs until I find out otherwise.

Are you talking about Christianity? If so, then there is more than one god.

In Genesis, God says, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness."

Unfortunately, the Bible is unclear as to what happens to all the other gods. We only know that in Exodus, God tells his people, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

What happened with the other gods? The Bible does not say. It only says that there were many gods in the beginning, and God holds dominion over the people with his commandments to Moses.

But, the Bible is not a very reliable source, having been written and rewritten by many people over many centuries. While the Bible claims there are many gods, maybe there are none. Or maybe there is only one, despite what Christianity says.

If you're talking outside of Christianity, then there could be thousands of gods.

There is one God and He is male. The bible says in the beginning God created…It goes on to say that he created man in His image. Do not be prideful and try to decide which gender is better because that is a useless argument. It is not important. That is a distraction from what you should be focused on. The focus should be on making sure your heart, soul and mind is in the right place. All the other issues are to get you off track.

Well personally after years of study of the tankh (Jewish Scripture Of The Old Testament) Moses himself only says that our god is the strongest god. & in the famous 10 commandments moses states you shall have no other gods before me for I am a jealous god. Now you can take this anyway you want but to me it sounds like Moses is saying that there are more than one, but only worship the god of Abraham first as the strongest. Just a little tidbit to think about.

One thing I always found funny, was how the christian church was always so adamant about there being only ONE God..

In the bible itself however, christ says that he is the great I AM, that is, having many many names..

My thought, is that how do we know that all the different gods and goddesses troughout history arent just the same entities, just with different names?

there are hundreds of different languages where one object can have many different names..would make sense that a deity would be no exception..

I'd say one God, without a gender. And you're right, religions shouldn't be shoving their ideas at you. I'm a little offended when you say that the male side would show intelligence, though... =P Women can be and are just as smart as men. And men can be just as caring as women!
