In Texas arrears in child support have to be paid no matter how old the child is.Go to your states attorney general website and find out if the same is true in your state.

If the child support was court ordered, and you know the location of the father, then you can. My question is why did you wait so long to try to get the support for them? The best thing to do is to contact a lawyer and find out what can be done.

good luck

i f your childrens fathers are in jail then no you can not get child support you can pursue but you will never get the money unitl they get out and even then they will not be able to get decent jobs because of the incarceration so you can go after the money but you may never recieve

Plus your kids are grown don't waste your time anyway you already raised them

Child support is for children not adults. If you didn't care enough when they were children to insure that they were properly supported and you didn't fight for their rights, why worry about now. It's too late and if they are both incarcerated then I'm sure they are both being taken care of.

There's nothing you can do about the money since they are grown, but they can contact a lawyer or you can get one for them and they can get the back child support.

If there was a court order for it you can get the back child support owed. Contact your local child support enforcement center (the family court division can give you the number).

If you filed papers stating that you were to receive child support then i do believe that you can go to court and put out a warrant for the kids father. He will either have to pay up or go to prision until you back child support is paid.

Yes, you are entitled to all of the support money. Even if the kids are grown. Even if the fathers are incarerated. Don't pay some company to collect for you; call your state support enforcement agency.

not for nothing, but if they are in jail - then shouldn't you be more worried about making them accountable for THEIR OWN ACTIONS, so they stay out of trouble in the future? Maybe they should be worried about acquiring job skills and getting counseling so htey don't end up locked up again?

I think your priorities might be askew and maybe now is the time to lead them down the right path. Money will not fix their problems.

Sorry to sound harsh - but sometimes we don't like what we hear although we may desperately need it.
