Yes, my nephew has Tourette's and does not show swearing as one of his symptomes. There are many symptomes associated with Tourette's and you do not have to show all of them to be diagnosed as having it. WebMD has some good information and referals to other rescources on Tourette's Syndrome.

Tourette's is a syndrome that is not necessarily related to the environment a person is brought up in. I think Tourette's sufferers generally do swear as it's something to do with it not being allowed- thus if you were assuming environment had an impact you might say that they were more likely to suffer if brought up in a non-swearing environment. You will never control all anyone hears, so they will pcik up the words from somewhere just like any other kid. Also Tourette's isn't exclusively about swearing but can include other phrases and physical tics too.

No, Tourette's Syndrome is a genetic syndrome and is permanent. The main feature of Tourette's is not swearing it is facial tics. Some patients have the inability to control their actions and swear but this is a very minor portion of this population. In all the years I worked in the Psychiatric and Psychological fields I only saw one patient with Tourette's that had inappropriate verbalizations and those were generally controlled with medications.

Yes, Tourette's had nothing to do with swearing, per se. Instead it's a syndrome which causes the sufferer to have involuntary tics, of which some are motor tics (uncontrollable bodt movements) and other's are phonic tics (verbal utterances). These phonic tics can be exhibted through swearing, but not always.

maximum folk with Tourettes have motor tics better than the swearing vocal tics. The vocal tics do no longer consistently could be swear words. I used to artwork with a new child with Tourettes that pronounced "biscuit" as a verbal tic. as far because the profanity free ecosystem, i do no longer imagine there is any such element. between college, acquaintances, father and mother, television, and action pictures, a new child will unavoidably study swear words.
