Yes, the meat does taste good when it is still red, and especially with a steak, it is much more tender when it is not cooked to death. The more it is cooked the tougher the meat gets. Now, I am not saying that with all meats, as some tenderize with length of cooking, but steaks toughen with cooking. Similiarly, you should try sushi, amazing the difference in taste!

I like medium rare steaks, on the rare side. The flavor is better, it's juicier. Some steaks like London Broil should never be fully cooked, then they will be too tough to enjoy. Prime Rib is almost never served medium, almost always on the rare side. Processed meat (ground beef) should be cooked at least until there is no pink in the center. The reason is that during processing, there is a greater opportunity for bacteria to grow in internal areas of a patty, for instance. Steaks are processed in such a way that bacteria normally wouldn't have a chance to enter the interior of the meat. Hope that clears some questions up for you. Remember, "Beef...it's what's for dinner!"

Hey ....I live in France and its actually hard to get a steak "well done" cos people can't beleive that you really want to cook the taste outa that slab of beef.

Personally, I think its all a matter of the quality of the meat - if its good stuff then have it rare but if its a cheap cut then give it more flame.

Hope this helps.....

Being that I love a good, aged, rare steak, it's all in the texture and taste of red meat. It all goes back to the forest prime evil when we ate meat as we could, raw and braised by the fire.
Yes, !!! It tastes better than haveing the natural juices cooked out of it. You really must try a good cut of meat at least medium rare.

Cooking a steak rare or medium-rare keeps the meat juicy, flavorful, and tender. The more you cook it, the more juices you cook out.

It's just one way of telling some one else you're a vampire.See back in the old ages they where getting killed off so they had to come up with a code for who was and who wasn't a vampire so M rare meant you where all most there and Rare meant you where the king and bloody rare meant you're a king with a mate.
