I have two girls and my doctor always told me that if the temp was 101 or higher to give them a call. If he is feeling warm, try giving some Tylenol fever reducer medicine (or any store brand) first and see what happens after an hour or two.
However, I would also say go with your gut. If he looks uncomfortable or is really complaining/fidgeting - I would call the doctor regardless of the temp.

You can consult your baby book for that. You can call your doctor's office and get the answer, too. Babies can endure a little higher than adults- but why play around. Call the office or take the child to the doctor. Some high temps can cause great complications. Why have the child suffer so!

this is sort of tricky; my son had fever siezures if temp neared 100.0 but at the same time this was the point where the body begins its natural defense for fighting off infection so, som doctors may say anything higher than 100.2 but again i would ask the doctor and even take temp. to find a baseline to know when medication is needed...please ask doctoer about this

101 a child can tolerate a higher temperature than an adult. They are fighting off something and if a little Motrin does no bring it down and it continues to rise I would call the doctor.

I am an ex nurse and 108f and your dead, now you figure it out. I always called my Dr when my kids got to 101f. To bring it down wrap him/her in cold wet towels. DO NOT give him any medication it will only interfere with a doctors diagnosis. If he/she starts to have convulsions DON'T PANIC, it happens with a high temp. Just let it run it's course, but you must get a doctor.

well,it depends why the child has a fever...
if it's only a cold or some other "normal" viral infection you can fight it at home...with tablets and by using mild temperatured water and washing a kid in a bathtub(higher temperatures)...if it's some serious illness or child had fever with convulsions before go straight to your doctor...better that he's annoyed than you worry all day and night...temperature up to 39C are possible for just homecare, but if higher visit your dr...ah,yes,NO ACETISALYCILATES!!!use paracetamol instead...

depending on the reason for the fever and how long the child has had it don't let it go over 100. a tepid bath,Tylenol..are great helpers..if a fever gets to high it could send the body into a febrile seizure...don't be afraid to call your doctor and get there advice
