how do u open a pineapple??

Cut off the top of it, give about 3/4 of an inch from the green part. Split in half, and then split into quarters. Take a knife and carefully shave off maybe an inch or so of the much lighter center section of the pineapple. Then, with a sharp knife, remove the skin, giving ample space so you don't eat those prickled things. By the way, let an adult do this for you. :P

Cut the bottom off first to give you a flat surface and hold the stem for a grip. Cut the pokey parts off the sides in straight cuts from top to bottom. Don't worry about taking off to much. Once all the skin is off, turn on its on side and slice it. Cut the stem off last. You can also core it before you slice it if you have the right tool.

OR cut it in half, then in quarters. Remove the core. Cut into slices all the way to the rind, then cut along the bottom of the slices.

cut off the top and a bit of the bottom with a large knive, and then slice off the skin in strips. Slice and take out the core with an apple corer.

Quarter it lengthwise. Then slice rind off each quarter lengthwise. Then slice quarters into slices. Rind can be scavenged for some pulp or scooped with spoon.

Its easier if you hold it by the leaves and remove the skin plus the thorn-like things. then cut off the leaves and bottom and slice it. Enjoy!!
