Well, I would count down but all three of my boys are too young to be in school. They are all home with me every day of the week. Pray for me!! LOL

No, they are only 3 and 22 months
Well the three year old will be starting preschool in september. Actually they will both go to some sort of day care and I will go back to school. I am definitely looking forward to that. Both because I can't wait to start school again and because I want them to start it too.
Not to judge, but if your kids are school age, why don't you get a job. Your husband must make a lot of money for you to have stayed home that long.
Enjoy your kids, they will go away to college before you know it.

I am sure a lot of stay at home moms feel like you, but I love summer, no schedules, other than church on Sundays, the kicked back life, no arguing to get up and get ready for school. I just love being with my daughter who will be 14 this summer. Enjoy the time you have with your son...you never know when that time will be up. Not to depress you or anything, but I lost my dad when I was 28 and miss him terribly still and I am 42, so I cherish every moment I have with my family. I love it too when she has friends over here rather than her going to her friends, I let her go, and rarely tell her she cannot go, but I just enjoy her here more.

Believe me the time will pass too soon. How I wish I had the years when my children were young and out of school for the summer. The memories you make now will be with him in the years to follow, make sure you don't waste your days hurrying them away. My children still remember our summers together, nothing out of the ordinary, just sitting around playing games, watching their favorite movies and having lunch together. The bond we made then is still with us, and my kids always tell me what a happy childhood they had. I might not of made a big splash in the world market, I didn't discover a cure but I did raise three kids that have happy memories. To me I have accomplished what I had set out to do. I know how rewarding your job can be just make sure you don't ever think it unimportant. I know a lot of moms who would love to jump out of the rat race and just spend time and get to really know their kids. Good luck and enjoy your son

As a teacher and mom of a 2 year old, I enjoy summer with my son. I get to spend the extra time with him. We do lots of fun things like the zoo, beach, Disneyland, swim, ect. Most of my teacher friends are off, and I can spend time with them. Although, after having this year off, I must say that I am actually looking forward to the fall.

Yes and no...
I swear, within moments of walking off the bus my two girls (5 & 8) started bickering. On the other hand, the 5 yr old starts kindergarten in the fall, so it will be bittersweet for me.
I have enjoyed the "unstructuredness" of our summer so far - coming and going as we please. Seems to make it more fun for them... me too!
p.s. I love the Staples commercials too - the Alice Cooper "School's out for summer" one is a riot!

I actually enjoy the time I have with my kids although trying to keep them occupied is a tough job sometimes. I do also look forward to them returning to school after a couple of months though too...and that staples commericial is quite funny, lol.

I haven't started counting yet. Having my seven year old home all day has been a blessing in disguise because he is old enough now to help me out with my three year old daughter (when there not bickering) while I tend to my two week old. Ya know help with cereal, play with her outside, help with shoes, etc. But I think I will really miss them both when he goes back to school and she starts pre-k.

Not yet. I put my daughter in some summer programs. It gives her something to do and she is not on my last nerve just yet. I try to enjoy summer vacation, but after her asking me every other day if a friend can spend the night, I am ready to go on medication.

I have to say that I never counted down until the end of summer. I didn't mind having my kids at home, and honestly, isn't your life easier when you don't have to deal with all the school stuff?
