You need to call immigration definitely. A friend of mine works for a Doctor and his wife is here on a visa and they were taking a trip to the Turks (?) and she was able to get out but not back in and she is expecting a baby and they still wouldn't allow her to return. The doctor is a citizen also.

No, not really. It is best to carry it with you. You never know when you will need it. Check with airlines or immigration office (if you are not a us citizen) to find details if you need to use visa passport. bon voyage!!!
